Latest Updates from Our Project:

Expansion Highlight: System Upgrade
about 1 month ago – Tue, Oct 17, 2017 at 11:51:52 PM

Attention Resistance!

Today's transmission (which our recon officer apologizes for the delay of) is a special one: The System Upgrade Expansion.

This expansion greatly enhances the Terminator experience by adding a whole new level of combat with upgradable abilities and gear. Skynet also gets a new boss figure: the Mainframe and Turrets. Let's take a closer look!

The extra wide 5-inch figure has a special two-level base that matches the thickness of the game board. The Mainframe sits halfway off the edge of the 2029 board, so this notch allows it to sit evenly on the table. This massive AI computer is nestled in the future Californian desert, boosting and supporting Skynet troops.

The two tandem turrets add an extra layer of security for Skynet, making a siege on the Mainframe a daunting mission for only the bravest Resistance soldiers.

What expansion would you like to see opened up next?

Corrected Rules & Expansion Mini-Update
about 2 months ago – Tue, Oct 03, 2017 at 01:10:38 AM

Attention Resistance Soldiers:

We apologize for the broken link last time. The below has an updated link, directly to where the rule book is stored on Drive. Please check it out and let us know what you think! Kickstarter DMs will be the best way to make sure we hear your feedback.

This one definitely works!

We'll be getting our final expansion box art in very soon—I was hoping to have those all in for this update, but alas—so in the meantime, I have a different treat from the expansions:

You goin' my way?
You goin' my way?

The Road Rage mini-expansion features the above vehicle (please note this base is not final) which has a particularly cool feature. The passenger jeep is a fleet, light gunner, but carries some special cargo: a bonus unit. A Resistance troop (Soldier or Heavy) can fit in the back and ride along. The bed of the truck is big enough to literally fit the piece, so the unit can actually ride around and still act per usual. If the passenger jeep is destroyed with a troop still on board, it's 50-50 whether they'll survive or go down with the ship. Just one more exciting way to shake up your gameplay!

Incoming: Rulebook & Box Design
2 months ago – Fri, Sep 15, 2017 at 11:23:39 PM

Attention Resistance Soldiers:

Incoming documents from the graphic design division...

This isn't the type of design we want to keep a lid on.
This isn't the type of design we want to keep a lid on.

Here is the flattened, print-ready version of the game box—it should look pretty familiar. We made the decision to alternate the side panel art. While it may look odd seen from this angle, it allows the box to be stacked horizontally or vertically on your shelf. With all the components kept snug by a custom-molded plastic tray, you don't have to worry about any shift no matter how you stack it.

I can't come up with a pun for this caption... Guess I'm no good at thinking outside the box.

The next big thing we want to share is a PDF of the rulebook. This downloadable version, linked through the picture below, is a near-final draft. It'll go through intense review here at the Space Goat HQ, but we'd also love all your feedback as well!

We hope you think this game rules.

Please send your comments, questions, and notes via Kickstarter DMs so we can make sure to receive them all. While we may not be able to fully respond to each one as it comes in, we'll be taking everything into consideration.

Have a good weekend!

Design Update: Box Back & Rules
3 months ago – Wed, Aug 16, 2017 at 12:13:44 AM

Attention Resistance Soldiers:

The design team is closing in on final print files. First up, we have our fancy back of the box! Once we get final specs on box size from the manufacturer, then we'll set up all final sizes. Confirming box size is just one of those weird little things that you want to quadruple check in order to make sure all stretch goal and final contents fit—but don't rattle around in too much empty space. For now, here's the draft of the back:

We'll be posting a full copy of our rules in a future, so that anyone who wants to can comb through and ask questions. It gets to a point when we read these words so many time, we become legally blind for a few minutes. Opening it up to backers, you all get to be editors and an extra line of defense to make sure this all makes sense. Here's a couple pages to show off design for now.

As seen on the last update, now with real images.

Just a quick look at components (and no, not everyone plays as Kyle Reese).

Behind the scenes, we're also working on figure optimization. We have a lot of different pieces and we want to make sure each one ends up as high quality—detailed, durable, and cool—as possible.

Design Updates & Our Tribute to Bill
4 months ago – Thu, Aug 03, 2017 at 12:36:25 AM

Attention Resistance Troops!

We had a phenomenal time at San Diego Comic-Con and met dozens of you wonderful backers! It's such a inspiring feeling to be able to share a physical, actual copy of the game with you. While Shon and Taylor were manning the frontlines in San Diego, our wonderful design team has been hard at work on the final version of game assets. Initiate dossier transfer:

The rule book will also feature a tribute to incredible Bill Paxton. We asked for some words from a few of those fortunate enough to know and work with him. Here are just a few:

"Bill was not only an incredible actor, but the kindest, warmest and most genuine person I've ever met. His passing is an absolutely devastating loss to his family, friends, and fans everywhere." Gale Anne Hurd - Producer

"I always found [Bill] to be a funny, big-hearted and very conversational guy who everybody loved. His passing is a huge loss,- not just for the filmmaking community but for all of his friends and family. I am proud to have known you Bill, you are truly one of the good guys." Peter Kent - T-800 Stuntman/Body Double

Lastly, the final round of the survey closes tomorrow at 1PM PST. After this, only the core game game (and anything you backed with your pledge already) will be available, as well as the Guerrilla Warfare optional buy expansion. If you want anything else from the campaign, then get it now!

Over and out, troops.
