Survey on Tuesday!
almost 7 years ago – Mon, Jun 12, 2017 at 12:58:00 AM

Attention Resistance Soldiers:

The survey will be going out at 11AM on June 13th! It is important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information for fulfilling your rewards. You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey: just click on the survey link, fill it out, and you’re all good to go! You will be able to answer questions about your rewards preferences, provide shipping information, and pledge for more Optional Buys if you'd like. You do not have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email.

If you decide later that you want to edit your survey response, you can go back to your survey and change it any time before we lock down the surveys for processing.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you will be able to recover your survey here: terminator.backerkit.com.

If you use your Facebook login for your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey will be sent to the email you used for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you would prefer to use, please contact support at terminator.backerkit.com/faq and we'll get you sorted out!

The pledge manager will be open for 45 days. After that we will be locking it down for final manufacturing numbers. So be sure to get it done!

We will have 2 social stretch goals going while the pledge manager is running! One you'll recognize from the campaign: if we get enough subscribers to The Terminator on Board Game Geek we can add more Torso Endoskeletons. We already have 688, so we're making good progress!

Then if we get a certain amount of shares on a Facebook post that will be going up on Tuesday, we’ll add the alternate T-800 to the core game!  All 6 of the photo cards and foil printing have all been unlocked already, so good job! They will be included with every pledge $60 and above.

The Skynet Mainframe and Turret have been completed, so you’ll want to keep an eye on Terminatorfans.com for the first look! Look forward to an update on Tuesday when the survey goes out. In the meantime, if you have any questions, feel free to message us through Kickstarter or email us directly at [email protected]!

We'll be back,

Production Update 6/2 - Survey Imminent
almost 7 years ago – Fri, Jun 02, 2017 at 10:34:15 PM

Hey Resistance Soldiers,

We are happy to announce that the survey portion of the campaign—aka, the pledge manager—will be launching early next week. You'll be able to select or add expansions and accessories you'd like with your pledge, as well as cover shipping. We'll announce right before the survey launches too. This will also be an opportunity for anyone who didn't back the campaign to get a copy of the game early, so make sure to share it out with any slowpokes you might know.

Our 3D figure files are just about ready to be sent to the manufacturer for review. We're working with our manufacturer's in-house sculptors to analyze and revise the files to be optimized for mass production. We have every confidence in this team of sculptors and anticipated this process going much faster than it did for Evil Dead 2.

We're very much on track for our December delivery date. Here's a rough checklist of what still needs to happen:

  • Optimizing of figures for mass production
  • Final approval by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Studiocanal for actor likenesses.
  • Final skinning of the game and assets
  • Manufacturing
  • Delivery

We'll continue to update as we check these items off.

Over and out,

Production Update 5/16
almost 7 years ago – Tue, May 16, 2017 at 11:45:37 PM

Incoming Transmission, Resistance:

Our update for today is figure-focused. Here are some of the new ones we've been working on, with the behind the scenes of the design process.

First up, we have Farrow Greene: the new playable character from Dark Horse Comics' Enemy of My Enemy storyline. She's a badass Resistance fighter that can be played in 1984 or 2029, since she fought in both eras.

She definitely walks the walk.

How does one fight so well against Skynet? Well, consider finding yourself a trusty companion that can sniff out trouble.

It's a dog-eat-robot world out there.

That's a nice human disguise you got there, Arnold. It'd be a doggone shame if someone were to, say, chew it off.

And lastly, for this update, we have the third Sarah Connor pose, used in the play variant featuring decoy Sarahs. It's like a shell game of life and death. We were inspired by this deleted scene of Sarah and Kyle before going to the Cyberdyne factory: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_I6UvSj-P8. She's coming up with a plan and looking cool doing it; this is the beginning of Sarah Connor as the Resistance leader who would raise John to his own greatness and we wanted to capture that moment.

Sarah tells it how it is.

Production is moving along right on track. There have been a couple hard lessons we learned during Evil Dead 2 that we've been able to minimize or totally eliminate for Terminator. For example, likeness approvals are able to begin much sooner in our production process, all the notes for optimizing figures for manufacturing were provided to the sculptors before they began, and there are no painted figures this time, to name a few.

Lastly, we're very close to announcing the opening of the pledge manager, also called as the survey. Please look forward to updates regarding it coming out before the next scheduled major update.

Survey Imminent - Production Update

Transmission incoming, Resistance:

We have a lot of points to cover and a lot of progress to report. First off, our Resistance Heavy got a reboot! With a name like "heavy," we felt that gun needed a little extra heft.

There's no "I'll be back" after a hit from one of these.
There's no "I'll be back" after a hit from one of these.

Next up—and this is a little dated now, but we still wanted to share—we have some concept art for the Skynet Mainframe by Yvel Guichet. The idea behind these drawings is that the mainframe is like a sentient building, a superstructure, that the humans need to outmaneuver and destroy. There'll also be turret miniatures to go with the mainframe.

A sufficiently big machine to rage against.

Let us know in the comments what you think!

The final piece we're waiting on before we can launch the survey is the freight weights and costs to a few different regions. This has taken a little longer than Evil Dead 2 because of the post-campaign changes we made to add-ons and components. We'll give you an early warning before the survey launches, as well as another update when it's live.

Lynnvander will have the rules for the core game and all optional buys all wrapped up tomorrow! We'll do our final comb through, make everything shiny and illustrated, and then we'll be ready to send this game to manufacturing. We've identified many of the hurdles we encountered during Evil Dead 2 and are leaping over them this time around.

Our manufacturer, BoDa's plastics partner, has all our 3D STL files and is reviewing them now. They'll be identifying any tweaks or edits that will need to be made to optimize them for the molding and manufacturing process. They've produced many fantastic games, including CMON's Kaosball and Arcadia Quest and FFG's Gears of War, Descent 2nd Ed., Imperial Assault, and X-Wing, so we know these are going to be some good-looking figures.

Lastly, we'll be shifting our update schedule to sync up with Evil Dead 2: the 1st and 15th of every month. Terminator will likely still have a few updates in the interim, but you can always count on those two regular postings a month.

That's all for now, soldiers. Dispatch terminated.

Questionnaire Results/Survey Incoming
about 7 years ago – Thu, Apr 13, 2017 at 12:36:36 AM

Attention Resistance soldiers!

We wanted to check in and let you all know we're hard at work over here getting things sorted for the survey. After doing some hard number crunching after looking at the questionnaire numbers (Thanks everyone for filling that out. We got over 700 responses!) we have made some decisions on optional buys.

Notes on optional buys that get cut: If you over pledged those funds can go towards paying your shipping costs. If after shipping you still over-pledged, Space Goat is happy to refund you the difference. Bundles that include add-ons that were cut will be restructured to still give you the same percentage of a discount!

  • We have to cut the gun dice holders as not enough backers were interested in them to cover mold costs.
  • We are able to make Extra HK Tanks, Extra Resistance Soldiers x8, Extra Stingers x6, Extra Resistance Heavies x4, and Extra Resistence Vehicles available for purchase at the survey. Since these molds are already made, we can make it happen without too much extra fuss. The core game will have every miniature you need to play the game without using cardboard tokens, these will just be for those who want replacements or want to build a home brew warfare system. We are getting prices locked down and will announce them soon.
  • We are combining Dogs of War and Tunnel Vision to make a combined Guerilla Combat expansion! Together they will be $14 for Kickstarter backers ($2 less than if packaged separately) We noticed the numbers for those were just about the same, so we wanted to save you all a couple bucks by combining the packaging. The gameplay bundle will also be $2 cheaper too.
  • We aren't able to make all of the player tokens, but we will be able to offer 2 out of the 6. We are planning on offering the Arnold and the T-800 player tokens, but if there's another one you'd really like to see, let us know in the comments!
  • We got a lot of requests for Terminator Dice Bags and Card Sleeves. If there were card sleeves, there would be enough to cover all of the cards in the core game and the optional buys. If this is something you all would be interested in, please let us know in the comments!
  • We do have one more optional buy that we're going to offer in the survey: the SGP exclusive Terminator: The Official Board Game T-shirt! American Classics are partnering with us to make it happen. It will be $20 for XS-XL, $21 for XXL, and $24 for 3XL-5XL

General Production Updates:

  • Lynnvander has been balancing and tweaking the optional buys, while the core game is pretty much done!
  • We've been talking with our manufacturer and fulfillment companies to get shipping numbers locked down. Once we have those down, we'll be able to plug them into Backerkit and get surveys your way!
  • We're still cracking away at the figures for the optional buys, and those will be done before the survey is completed.
  • Very soon we will be sending the figure files to our pre-press sculptor to get them ready for manufacturing.
  • When we send out surveys we will be able to get photos for T-800 and resistance card backers. So be sure to get what photos you want ready!
  • We're aiming to send out the survey early next week, and will let you all know when we have more details.

If you have any questions, feel free to comment in this update, message us via Kickstarter, or email us at [email protected].

We'll be back,

Team Space Goat
